The Hint It Monthly Giveaway ("Giveaway") is open to legal residents of the United States who are 18 or older on the date they enter. No purchase is necessary to enter or win. The official rules and how to enter are below.
The Hint It Monthly Giveaway ("Giveaway") is open to legal residents of the United States who are 18 or older on the date they enter. The Giveaway is void where prohibited by law.

By entering, you agree to these Official Rules. All decisions made by Hint It, Inc. about the Giveaway are final. You confirm that you meet the eligibility requirements in Section 1.
Entry period. Each month's entry period opens on the 1st at 12:00:00 AM Eastern Time and closes on the last day of the month at 11:59:59 PM Eastern Time.
Draw. After each entry period closes, Hint It draws four winning four-digit numbers at random, each between 0000 and 9999. Your entry number is the last four digits of the phone number you used to opt in. If your entry number matches one of the four winning numbers drawn that month, you win. The draw is not livestreamed. The results are final.
Number of winners. The number of winners depends on how many entrants hold a winning number. Because a four-digit number can be shared by more than one entrant, a single winning number may produce more than one winner. A month may have no winner, one winner, or several. How the prize pool is divided among multiple winners is described in Section 6, and what happens if no one holds a winning number is described in Sections 6 and 10.
Winner notification. Winners are notified within 5 business days of the draw by:
Hint It is not responsible if a winner cannot be reached due to network problems, an incorrect phone number, disabled notifications, or any other issue outside our control.

The last four digits of the phone number you verify are your entry number for the monthly draw. Each Qualifying Hint you drop during the entry period earns you one entry. Entries affect your share of the prize if you win; they do not change your odds of winning (see Sections 6 and 7).
What counts as a Qualifying Hint. A Qualifying Hint is a Hint submitted in good faith to a listed business during the current monthly entry period, and not flagged as fraudulent or automated by Hint It's systems. Hints that do not meet this definition are not Qualifying Hints and will not count toward the Giveaway.
Consent to receive text messages.

Your privacy. Your phone number is exclusively used for the giveaway. We value your privacy and ensure that it is not shared with any third parties, including the business to which you've provided feedback.

No purchase is necessary to enter or win. Dropping a hint through the Hint It app is free.

How the prize pool is built. Hint It seeds each month's prize pool with $1,000. Hint It then adds $0.02 to the pool for every hint received during that month's entry period. The pool is funded entirely by Hint It, Inc. Entrants and businesses do not contribute to it. The more hints submitted that month, the larger the pool grows.
Prize amount. The prize amount is not fixed in advance. It is the $1,000 seed plus the per-hint additions for that month. The total prize pool for each monthly draw will be disclosed in the winner announcement posted at [GIVEAWAY RESULTS URL - to confirm].
How the pool is divided. A single winner receives the entire pool for that month. If there is more than one winner, the pool is divided among the winners in proportion to each winner's number of entries (Qualifying Hints). For example, if Person A and Person B both win, and Person A has two entries while Person B has one, Person A receives 66.67% of the pool and Person B receives 33.33%.
Important terms.
Your entry number is the last four digits of the phone number you used to opt in. Each month, Hint It draws four winning four-digit numbers out of the 10,000 possible combinations (0000 to 9999). Because four numbers are drawn from 10,000, the odds that any given entry number is selected are 4 in 10,000, or about 1 in 2,500.
Your odds do not change with the number of hints you drop. Your entry number is the last four digits of your phone, and it stays the same no matter how many entries you have. What more entries change is your share of the prize if you win (see Section 6).
Each Qualifying Hint you drop during the entry period earns you one entry. Drop multiple Qualifying Hints in the same month and you earn multiple entries. Your entries determine your share of the prize if you win. They do not change your odds of winning, which depend only on your entry number (see Section 7).
Provide accurate information. A false phone number or unverifiable identity may result in disqualification.
Your entry is yours alone. It cannot be transferred, assigned, or submitted on behalf of another person or any entity.
Fraudulent entries, including those submitted through automated means, bots, macros, or scripts, will be disqualified.

Each month, Hint It draws four winning four-digit numbers at random, by or on behalf of Hint It, Inc. Any entrant whose entry number (the last four digits of the phone number used to opt in) matches one of the four winning numbers is a winner.
If more than one entrant holds the same winning number, each of them is a winner, and the prize pool is divided as described in Section 6. If no entrant holds any of the four winning numbers in a given month, no prize is awarded that month, and the entire prize pool (the $1,000 seed plus that month's additions) rolls over and is added to the next month's pool.
All draw results are final.
Claiming your prize. If you win:
Breach. Any breach of these Official Rules by a winner, at Hint It's sole discretion, will result in immediate disqualification, forfeiture of the prize, and termination of all winner privileges.
By accepting a prize, you grant Hint It, Inc., and anyone acting on its behalf, the right to use your name and likeness to announce you as a winner, without additional compensation, except where prohibited by law.
This right covers winner announcements only. It does not extend to general advertising, unrelated promotional materials, or any other commercial use.
Entering the Giveaway does not sign you up for marketing messages. Any newsletter or ongoing communication from Hint It is strictly opt-in and separate.
Hint It reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the Giveaway if a virus, bug, unauthorized human intervention, fraud, or any other cause beyond its reasonable control corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, or proper conduct of the Giveaway. If the Giveaway is cancelled or suspended after entries have been received, Hint It may select winners from qualifying entries received before the cancellation or suspension, as appropriate.
Hint It reserves the right to void any entry, at its sole discretion, for any reason including:
Any attempt to deliberately damage the Hint It platform or to undermine the legitimate operation of the Giveaway may violate criminal and civil laws. Hint It reserves the right to seek damages from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law.
By entering, you agree to release and hold harmless Hint It, Inc. and its subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies, partners, representatives, agents, successors, assigns, employees, officers, and directors from any liability, illness, injury, death, loss, litigation, claim, or damage that may occur, directly or indirectly, whether caused by negligence or not, arising from:
This Giveaway is governed by the laws of the State of Delaware and the laws of the United States of America, without regard to conflict of law principles.
As a condition of participating in this Giveaway, you agree that any dispute that cannot be resolved between the parties, and any cause of action arising out of or connected with this Giveaway, will be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, exclusively before a court of competent jurisdiction located in Delaware.
You waive all rights to claim punitive, incidental, or consequential damages, including reasonable attorneys' fees, other than your actual out-of-pocket expenses (meaning the costs directly associated with entering this Giveaway). You also waive all rights to have damages multiplied or increased.
